What Are Equivalent Fractions?
Description
The ability to identify equivalent fractions and the ability to generate such fractions are important skills for elementary students. In this module students are taught both skills using a variety of approaches.
As important as it is for students to be able to generate equivalent fractions mathematically, they will also be shown how to do so with visual models. Students are also shown how to generate a sequence of equivalent fractions using various techniques.
