Media4Math Classroom is developing a series of instructional modules for reviewing SAT math topics in detail. These modules review the key skills that are tested on the SAT. In this module there is a thorough review of the topic of linear equations.

This module reviews systems of equations. In particular, these topics are covered: Definition of a system of equations. Substitution method. Elimination method. Non-linear systems.

In this module there is a thorough review of the topic of functions. This module covers five key areas: Definition of a function. Evaluating a function. The structure of linear functions. The structure of quadratic functions. Composite functions.

In this module there is a complete review of the topic of complex numbers. This module covers six key areas: Definition of an imaginary number, Definition of a complex number, Calculating the modulus of a complex number, Adding and subtracting complex numbers, Multiplying and dividing complex numbers, Complex roots of quadratic equations.

In this module there is a complete review of the topic of quadratic functions and equations. This module covers four key areas: 1. Definition of a quadratic function; 2. Definition of a quadratic equation; 3. Solving quadratic equations algebraically; 4. Solving quadratic functions graphically.

In this Media4Math Classroom Module, your early elementary students will get experience in counting from 1 to 20. Using graphics, videos, and an engaging counting game, students are introduced to the skill of counting and how to use that skill to solve problems. 

Turn the Halloween season into an opportunity to do some math activities! In this module, you'll find a clever collection of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry activities. This module includes video, hands-on activities, and games.

In this module explore reflection and symmetry in the context of Leonardo Da Vinci's mirror writing. Many of Da Vinci's handwritten notes were written in reverse script that could only be read correctly in a mirror. This provides an opportunity to explore geometric reflections, but also the symmetric properties of certain letters of the alphabet.

In this lesson students learn how to use the slope formula to calculate steepness. In particular, students learn how to calculate steepness in the context of cycling. Cyclists use a measure called grade to calculate the steepness of a hill or mountain. Students apply their knowledge of slope to the concept of grade.

In this module, students explore a physics-based application of linear functions: Hooke's Law. By exploring the properties of springs, a simple linear model is developed. Students then explore applications of Hooke's Law, from weight scales to bungee cords.
