Definition
A rectangle is a four-sided polygon with opposite sides equal and all angles right angles.
Description
Rectangles are ubiquitous in both natural and human-made environments. They are essential for understanding properties of polygons, calculating area and perimeter, and solving geometric problems. For example, the area of a rectangle is calculated using the formula
A = l × w
where l is the length and w is the width. Rectangles are widely used in design, architecture, and engineering due to their structural stability and aesthetic appeal.
