SAT Math Lesson Plan 27: Quadrilaterals and Polygons

In SAT Math Lesson 27, students explore the properties of quadrilaterals and other polygons. This lesson covers:

SAT

  • Identifying types of quadrilaterals based on side lengths, angles, and symmetry,
  • Applying area formulas for rectangles, rhombuses, trapezoids, and composite shapes,
  • Analyzing geometric diagrams to deduce missing values using angle relationships and side properties,
  • Understanding symmetry, diagonals, and coordinate geometry applications involving quadrilaterals.

Students will build fluency with definitions, visual reasoning, and formula applications for real-world geometry problems. This includes SAT-style tasks involving unknown angle measures, segment lengths, and composite shapes using familiar quadrilateral formulas. All content is aligned to key geometry standards emphasized on the SAT Math section.
