SAT Math Lesson Plan 32: Answer Elimination Techniques
In SAT Math Lesson 32, students learn one of the most powerful test-taking strategies available: answer elimination. This lesson introduces practical methods for narrowing down multiple-choice options using logic, estimation, unit analysis, and pattern recognition. Students are shown how to identify distractors, test boundaries, backsolve, and quickly spot mathematically invalid choices.
This lesson is designed to be completed in 30 minutes or less and can be used at any point in the SAT curriculum. It includes multiple worked-out examples, a strategic review, and a 10-question quiz that encourages metacognitive thinking and real-world application of strategy.
